Job Summary:

We are looking for a skilled Health, Safety and Environment Professional to join our team in Cumbria.

About the Role:
  • Provide HSE & Radiological advice and support the implementation of Beyond Zero policies.
  • Support the implementation of legislative requirements and HSE standards in coordination with business and project management teams.
  • Maintain a proactive approach to nuclear, radiological, conventional, and environmental safety at all times.
  • Advise and support office, laboratory, site, and project teams on hazard identification, safe systems of work, and risk assessments.
  • Monitor compliance to HSE standards, including scheduled field visits and inspections, and recommend corrective actions.
  • Conduct HSE communications meetings with senior management, supply chain partners, and contractors.
  • Assist in investigating accidents and incidents for root cause identification.
  • Provide advice on Construction activities in line with CDM requirements.
  • Support off-site offices and projects, ensuring HS&E procedures are embedded.
Responsibilities:
  1. Implement and maintain health, safety, and environmental policies and procedures.
  2. Provide guidance and training to employees on health, safety, and environmental matters.
  3. Conduct regular site visits to monitor compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
  4. Investigate accidents and incidents, identifying causes and recommending preventive measures.
  5. Develop and implement plans to mitigate risks and ensure a safe working environment.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in health, safety, and environmental regulations, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

We offer a competitive salary of £43,000 - £59,000 per annum, depending on experience, and a range of benefits including pension scheme, life insurance, and professional development opportunities.
