The Role
This key position reports directly to the General Manager, requiring the successful candidate to implement the HSE strategy, focusing on safe behaviors and attitudes at all levels within the business. The ideal candidate must be able to influence, coach, and support business leaders and their teams to develop safety leadership. This role involves analyzing policies, procedures, and regulations, ensuring compliance in a manufacturing environment. You will also engage with teams to drive environmental management system improvements (ISO 14001).
Candidates' Profile
To succeed in this critical position, candidates must demonstrate the following skills and qualifications:
- A holder of a NEBOSH general certificate or equivalent.
- Good working knowledge of Health & Safety Policies/Procedures/Regulations – ideally in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience of working with environmental management systems and engaging with the teams of people needed to drive improvement. (ISO 14001)
- Demonstrable experience of implementing culture and/or behavioral change in a complex organisation.
- Ability to influence key stakeholders to build effective relationships with internal customers and other external contacts.
- Good organisational skills with an ability to manage own workload and priorities.
- Excellent communication skills – verbal and written including one to one and group meetings and presentations.
- Ability to problem solve through to root cause.
- High degree of personal resilience.
- Good general IT skills including Outlook, Word, Excel and other in-house system.
