Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Clinical Pharmacy Specialist to join our dedicated pharmacy team at King's College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust. This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated and experienced pharmacist to take on a key leadership role in providing and developing specialist clinical pharmacy services to the Critical Care Care Group.

Main Responsibilities
  • Act as a deputy for Principal Pharmacist when necessary, providing exceptional leadership and guidance to the team.
  • Contribute to the delivery of high-quality, patient-focused pharmaceutical care to patients in the Critical Care Care Group, working collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Develop and implement clinical pharmacy services tailored to meet the needs of the Care Group, ensuring seamless integration with other departments and services.
  • Liaise between wards, departments, and pharmacy to ensure that pharmacy services are aligned with the needs of the Care Group.
  • Lead on the provision of clinical pharmacy services to sub-specialties within the Care Group, promoting a high level of clinical pharmacy input.
  • Serve as a clinical role model, supervising rotational staff and promoting excellence in practice.
  • Promote safe drug use within the specialty, adhering to regulations and legislation.
  • Develop, implement, and audit local guidelines, contributing to quality improvement initiatives.
Person Specification
  • Postgraduate Certificate in Pharmacy Practice or equivalent qualification/experience.
  • Registered Pharmacist (1 year competency assessed and examined professional registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council).
  • Registered Independent Prescriber or willingness to complete.
  • Specialist clinical knowledge and skills relevant to area of practice.
  • Knowledge of regulations and legislation relevant to area of practice.
  • Previous relevant specialist clinical experience.
