We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Clinical Pharmacy Lead to join our team at King's College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust.

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity for a senior pharmacist to lead and develop clinical pharmacy services within our Critical Care department. As a key member of the multidisciplinary team, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality, patient-focused care to patients within our hospital.

The successful candidate will have excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with clinicians, managers, and other stakeholders to drive service improvement and innovation.

Key Responsibilities
  • To lead the development and implementation of clinical pharmacy services within the Critical Care department, working closely with the Principal Pharmacist Critical Care and other clinical teams.
  • To provide expert clinical advice and guidance to nursing and medical staff on the care and treatment of patients.
  • To participate in the multidisciplinary ward rounds and contribute to the development of evidence-based prescribing guidelines.
  • To support the development and implementation of policies to control drug expenditure and ensure cost-effective prescribing.
  • To manage and develop the performance of junior staff, ensuring excellence is recognised and underperformance is addressed.
  • To participate in teaching and supervising students at undergraduate and postgraduate levels, and to act as a tutor for trainee pharmacists.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A degree in pharmacy or equivalent qualification.
  • Registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC).
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills, with experience of managing and developing teams.
  • Strong clinical skills, with expertise in critical care pharmacy practice.
  • Ability to work effectively with clinicians, managers, and other stakeholders to drive service improvement and innovation.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret data and make informed decisions.
Salary and Benefits

The salary for this role is £80,000-£100,000 per annum, depending on experience, plus benefits including pension scheme, annual leave, and training opportunities.
