We are looking for an experienced Support Worker to join our team at Academics. The successful candidate will have a strong passion for working with vulnerable individuals and be able to demonstrate excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

Job Description:

The Aspiring SEND Teacher role will involve working closely with our specialist therapy teams to provide essential experience within a challenging yet rewarding setting.

Responsibilities:

  • To build confidence and motivation in students
  • To establish robust and effective relationships with students
  • To remain calm and resilient when placed in situations of stress or conflict
  • To deliver personal and medical care, including feeding and manual handling where necessary
  • To develop knowledge and experience to deliver appropriate support
  • To encourage the development of social skills and support students' individual needs
  • To provide behaviour and pastoral support
  • To ensure safeguarding of students

Requirements:

  • No previous experience is required
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Able to prepare resources for teaching and learning activities
  • Able to plan learning activities to suit student ability with support from a teacher
  • Willing to work 1:1 and in small groups with students
  • Able to attend staff meetings and complete appropriate CPD

Working Conditions:

  • 5 days a week (Mon-Fri)
  • £80-£117 per day

The estimated salary for this role is £93,600 - £134,520 per annum based on a 5-day working week.
