Assistant Merchandiser Job Description

Monsoon is an exciting and ethical fashion brand seeking an Assistant Merchandiser to join our Merchandise team. As an Assistant Merchandiser, you will play a key role in managing stock levels, allocating products, and supporting the sales process to maximize profit and sales.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist in managing stock levels to maximize profit through sales.
  • Manage allocations to ensure allocation plans are met.
  • Support the sales process to maximize sales while protecting margin and profit.
  • Produce, maintain, and circulate departmental, brand analysis, and reports on a weekly basis.
  • Oversee markdowns and promotions.
  • Oversee and maintain Brand KPI sheets.
  • Monitor and analyze deliveries to ensure business needs are met.
  • Negotiate with suppliers on cost price.
  • Ensure cost price reduction in relation to deliveries.
  • Support multi-channel analyses.
  • Work closely with Junior Merchandisers, Branch Merchandising, Buying, and the Web Team to deliver timely and accurate stock packages to stores.
  • Support the merchandising team in creating seasonal sales and buying plans to maximize commercial opportunities.
  • Support merchandiser monitoring stock on continuity lines to maximize sales opportunities.
  • Plan induction for new employees within the merchandising team.
  • Support Merchandiser to ensure company and department information is communicated effectively to the team through weekly team meetings.
  • Coach and develop team members at a junior level.
  • Identify team training needs.
Requirements:
  • Interest in working in fashion retail.
  • Proven track record in multi-product.
  • Strong analytical and advanced Excel skills.
  • Ability to identify key trends and emerging opportunities in line with customer profile.
  • Experience of managing a team and supporting sign-offs.
  • Confident and articulate communicator with an ability to build strong cross-functional relationships.
  • Ability to deliver to tight timescales and work under pressure.
  • Strong negotiation skills.
