Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled Clinical Support Worker to join our Inflammatory Bowel Disease service at Barts Health NHS Trust.

The successful candidate will assist healthcare professionals in providing assessment, care, treatment, and discharge planning for patients with IBD.

They will also provide administrative support to the service, including reception and appointment booking, and maintain confidentiality of patient information at all times.

Main Responsibilities

The Clinical Support Worker will be responsible for:

  • Providing phlebotomy and cannulation services to patients
  • Assisting with patient assessment, care, treatment, and discharge planning
  • Providing administrative support to the service, including reception and appointment booking
  • Maintaining confidentiality of patient information at all times

Requirements

To be successful in this role, the candidate will need:

  • General level of education to GCSE standard
  • Previous experience working in a hospital setting
  • Knowledge of and ability to implement relevant policies and standard operating procedures
  • Knowledge and understanding of confidentiality
  • Phlebotomy and cannulation skills
  • Able to use CRS system
  • Ability to work as a team member and effectively within a busy environment
  • Ability to learn new skills
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills, verbal and non-verbal
  • Computer skills
