Job Summary

The successful candidate will work at Core Medical Trainee (ST1/2) level within the Hospital for Tropical Diseases, both in the inpatient ward teams under the supervision of Infectious Diseases Consultants and Registrars, as well as working in the HTD's emergency walk-in service for returning travelers who have returned from tropical regions of the world within the last year and are recently unwell with conditions such as fever, bloody diarrhea, or rash.

This post provides unparalleled experience in managing tropical and imported infections as well as complex UK-acquired infections. The successful candidate will be on the on-call CMT rota for Infectious Diseases, including ward cover for ID inpatients and admitting referrals to ID from the Emergency Department, under the supervision of the on-site Infectious Diseases registrar.

Main Responsibilities
  • Work in the inpatient infection service at UCLH and at the emergency walk-in clinic at the Hospital for Tropical Diseases (HTD).
  • Attend a rich program of learning and training opportunities throughout the week.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • MRCP Part 1 qualification.
  • Completion of foundation training or equivalent by the start of the job.
