Job Description

This is an exciting opportunity for a Consultant in Infectious Diseases to join our team. As a Senior Clinical Microbiologist, you will play a crucial role in delivering high-quality patient care and contributing to the development of our department.

You will be responsible for providing expert clinical microbiology services, including diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of infectious diseases. The ideal candidate will have a broad experience in delivering a clinical and diagnostic Microbiology service, as well as experience of working in an OPAT service.

Responsibilities
  1. Provide expert clinical microbiology services, including diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of infectious diseases
  2. Develop and implement policies and procedures related to infection control and antimicrobial stewardship
  3. Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless delivery of patient care
  4. Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the development of our department
Requirements
  • Broad experience in delivering a clinical and diagnostic Microbiology service
  • Experience of working in an OPAT service
  • Degree of MBBS or equivalent qualification
  • MRCP (UK) or show evidence of equivalent qualification
  • FRCPath (UK) (Medical Microbiology) or show evidence of equivalent qualification
Salary and Benefits

We offer a competitive salary of £85,000 - £110,000 per annum, depending on experience. In addition to a generous pension scheme, we provide a range of benefits, including annual leave, flexible working arrangements, and professional development opportunities.

Location
