Nurse Specialist in Inflammatory Bowel Disease Management
We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Staff Nurse to join our Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD) day unit at St. Mark's Hospital.
As a member of our multidisciplinary IBD team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care, supporting patients receiving biological therapy for IBD, and contributing to the development of our specialist day unit.
St. Mark's Hospital is an internationally renowned centre of excellence, providing a range of specialist services for patients with bowel disease.
We are a university teaching NHS trust, committed to training clinicians of the future and improving patient outcomes through research.
About the Role
Our IBD day unit is a dynamic and busy nurse-led unit, providing care to approximately 100 patients weekly.
You will join a team of nurses responsible for the day-to-day management of the unit, including screening and scheduling patients for treatment, counselling patients and providing support and education about therapies and IBD, clinical assessment, and administering IV treatments.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality patient care, including clinical assessment, treatment administration, and patient education.
- Support patients receiving biological therapy for IBD, including counselling and providing information about treatment options.
- Contribute to the development of our specialist IBD day unit, including the implementation of new policies and procedures.
- Work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary IBD team to ensure seamless patient care.
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- RGN registration and experience of working in a similar role.
- Knowledge of IBD and its management.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritise tasks effectively.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
