Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Specialist Podiatrist to join our Central Podiatry Team at Northumbria Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our team, you will provide high-quality care to moderate and high-risk patients in a variety of settings, including community and acute settings.

Main Responsibilities

As a Specialist Podiatrist, your key responsibilities will include:

  • Providing efficient, effective, and high-quality treatment to patients in a range of different settings.
  • Developing and implementing individual care plans for patients with a wide range of clinical needs.
  • Managing an individual caseload that will provide specialist care, with a focus on patient empowerment and independence.
  • Providing services at a wide variety of sites, including patient's homes, clinics, GP practices, community hospitals, and in challenging conditions.
  • Delivering and recording high-quality, evidence-based interventions, in accordance with professional standards and legal requirements.

Person Specification

The ideal candidate will have:

  • A relevant diploma/degree in Chiropody/Podiatric Medicine from a recognised institution and previous accumulated postgraduate experience.
  • Continued registration with the Health and Care Professions Council.
  • A certificate in local anaesthesia.
  • A strong track record of continual professional development, with a high degree of knowledge over a wide range of clinical conditions.
  • Experience of working in the NHS and completion of a Senior II competency programme.
