About the Role

We are seeking a Senior Dispensing Assistant to join our Pharmacy team at Colchester Hospital. As a key member of our team, you will provide dispensing support to qualified staff and work within most areas of the ESNEFT Pharmaceutical Service.

Key Responsibilities

  • Dispense medicines for in-patients and out-patients, ensuring accuracy and quality.
  • Restock pharmaceutical products to wards and departments.
  • Operate the cash till and debit/credit card machine to take payment for prescriptions.
  • Ensure patient information and compliance aids are supplied with dispensed items.
  • Perform self-checks on dispensed items to ensure accuracy and quality.

Requirements

  • Previous experience of working in pharmacy (retail/hospital).
  • Use of computers.
  • Basic Secondary Education - 'O' level/GCSE English, Maths & Science.
  • NVQ Pharmacy Services Level 2 - optional units: relevant to pharmacy practice area or equivalent.
