We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Chef to lead our kitchen team at Excelcare Holdings. As the Care Home Chef, you will be responsible for preparing and cooking nutritious meals using fresh ingredients, ensuring that our residents receive the highest quality food that meets their individual dietary requirements.

About the Role

  • Prepare and cook meals for large numbers of residents, using fresh ingredients and adhering to food safety guidelines.
  • Schedule weekly meal menus, taking into account the dietary needs and preferences of our residents.
  • Work closely with the Home Manager to ensure that ordering of stock is in line with budgetary requirements.
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure that meal plans and dietary requirements align with individual support plans and risk assessments.
  • Maintain quality assurance systems within the kitchen, ensuring that all food is prepared and served to the highest standards.
  • Supervise and train other kitchen team members, promoting a positive and supportive work environment.
  • Ensure that all kitchen staff are aware of and adhere to health and safety guidelines, including COSHH and food hygiene regulations.

Requirements

  • Experience of cooking for large numbers of people.
  • NVQ Level 2 in catering and hospitality.
  • 2 years' experience in a catering environment.
  • 12 months experience in managing a kitchen team.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with residents, staff, and healthcare professionals.
