About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Underwriter, Casualty to join our team at AXA XL. As a key member of our International Casualty, UK Retail Underwriting Team, you will play a critical role in developing and maintaining clear underwriting procedures and processes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop, document, and maintain underwriting procedures and processes to ensure adherence to company guidelines, underwriting rules, and regulatory requirements.
  • Support continuous improvement and efficiency initiatives within the Underwriting, Finance, Claims, and Operations functions.
  • Conduct regular reviews of new and existing underwriting guidelines, assess potential portfolio impact, and recommend updates to reflect industry best practices and regulatory changes.
  • Analyze underwriting data to identify potential risk areas and recommend mitigating strategies.
  • Prepare reports and presentations on underwriting performance and risk management activities.
  • Assist with portfolio management and interaction across the wider Retail portfolio.
  • Act as the escalation point for Global and Strategic partners, lead, promote, and develop strategic relationships with brokers, clients, reinsurers, and market players.
Requirements
  • Extensive technical underwriting experience and broker management in Casualty.
  • Significant people management credential and effective hands-on team leadership in accordance with AXA XL corporate values.
  • Experience in portfolio management and data analytics.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, communication, and technical skills with Microsoft Office and other relevant systems.
  • Effective time management skills with the ability to prioritize and multi-task.
