Job Title: Senior International Casualty Underwriter

At SCOR, we are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior International Casualty Underwriter to join our team. As a key member of our underwriting team, you will be responsible for building and developing a profitable and sustainable portfolio of international casualty risks out of London.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and manage a portfolio of international casualty risks, including underwriting, negotiating, and managing casualty (re)insurance programs for large corporate risks.
  • Contribute to the development and quality of the portfolio in accordance with the underwriting policy.
  • Build and maintain relationships with brokers and clients in the London market.
  • Market SBS capabilities and products to corporate risk managers and brokers in the London market.
  • Underwrite corporate accounts and build a profitable portfolio of international casualty risks.
  • Report on accounts and marketing activity.
  • Supervise the administration of OMEGA back-office tool and other SBS tools.
  • Produce marketing materials and intelligence documentation based on research and analysis of portfolio results and market data.
  • Identify areas of growth and develop strategies to expand the portfolio.
  • Respond to all offers in a timely manner.
  • Create and maintain accurate database records of approaches and risks accepted.
  • Research and develop new areas of profitable growth.
  • Produce reports of various formats for reporting purposes.
Requirements:
  • Extensive underwriting experience in insurance/reinsurance with strong knowledge in the international space.
  • Proven underwriting skills for insurance programs of large corporates.
  • Effective knowledge of the London broking community in the international casualty space.
  • Organized and able to prioritize under pressure.
  • Ability to evaluate, condense, and summarize key information.
  • Confidence to develop and maintain a network of brokers and clients.
  • An enquiring mindset with the ability to work independently as a motivated and proactive self-starter.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
