Job Purpose

We are seeking an experienced Community Fundraiser to join our team at Ronald McDonald House Charities UK. As a key member of our Income Generation team, you will be responsible for cultivating and recruiting new and existing supporters and volunteers to participate in fundraising events, building trusted relationships with our families, and working with the National Community Fundraising Manager to develop a strategy for your region.

Key Responsibilities
  • Cultivate and Recruit Supporters: Develop and implement a plan to recruit new and existing supporters and volunteers to participate in fundraising events, ensuring a strong pipeline of potential donors.
  • Build Relationships: Establish and maintain trusted relationships with our families, supporters, and volunteers, ensuring their needs are met and they feel valued and supported.
  • Develop Regional Strategy: Work with the National Community Fundraising Manager to develop a comprehensive strategy for your region, identifying opportunities for growth and income generation.
  • Collaborate with Teams: Work effectively with teams across the wider Charity, including House teams and the Marketing and Communications department, to ensure a cohesive and effective approach to fundraising.
  • Volunteer Management: Work with volunteers to participate in fundraising events or hold their own 'in aid of' fundraising events, ensuring their involvement is valued and their skills are utilized effectively.
  • Marketing and Communications: Work with the Marketing and Communications department to produce fundraising materials and ensure all public relations opportunities are maximized.
  • Representation: Represent Ronald McDonald House Charities UK at fundraising meetings, events, and presentations outside normal office hours, as required.
  • Database Management: Accurately use the in-house database to record communications and bank income, ensuring financial and non-financial activity is recorded.
  • Compliance: Ensure all fundraising conforms to industry best practice and legal requirements.
Knowledge and Experience
  • Fundraising Experience: Proven experience in fundraising or a customer-facing role, with the ability to manage relationships with a diverse range of people.
  • Annual Plans and Budgets: Experience of developing annual plans and budgets, producing reports on progress and against objectives and financial targets.
  • Database Skills: Knowledge of using a database to carry out day-to-day administrative duties.
  • Teamwork: Experience working independently and as part of a wider team.
