Job Purpose

We are seeking an experienced Community Fundraiser to join our team at Ronald McDonald House Charities UK. As a key member of our Income Generation team, you will be responsible for cultivating and recruiting new and existing supporters and volunteers to participate in fundraising events, building trusted relationships with our families, and working with the National Community Fundraising Manager to develop a strategy for your region.

Key Responsibilities
  • Cultivate and Recruit Supporters: Develop and implement a plan to recruit new and existing supporters and volunteers to participate in fundraising events, ensuring a strong pipeline of potential donors.
  • Build Relationships: Establish and maintain trusted relationships with our families, supporters, and volunteers, ensuring their needs are met and they feel valued and supported.
  • Develop Regional Strategy: Work with the National Community Fundraising Manager to develop a comprehensive strategy for your region, identifying opportunities for growth and development.
  • Collaborate with Teams: Work effectively with teams across the wider Charity, including House teams and the Marketing and Communications department, to ensure a cohesive and effective approach to fundraising.
  • Represent the Charity: Represent Ronald McDonald House Charities UK at fundraising meetings, events, and presentations, ensuring a positive and professional image of the Charity.
  • Database Management: Accurately use the in-house database to record communications and bank income, ensuring financial and non-financial activity is recorded and reported.
  • Compliance: Ensure all fundraising conforms to industry best practice and legal requirements, maintaining the highest standards of integrity and transparency.
Knowledge and Experience
  • Fundraising Experience: Proven experience in fundraising, with a track record of success in cultivating and recruiting supporters and volunteers.
  • Relationship Building: Experience of building and maintaining relationships with a diverse range of people, including families, supporters, and volunteers.
  • Database Management: Knowledge of using a database to carry out day-to-day administrative duties, including recording communications and bank income.
  • Teamwork: Experience of working independently and as part of a wider team, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
