About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced individual to join our team as the Wales Energy Strategic Planning Lead. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in shaping the future of energy planning in Wales.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement the Regional Energy Strategic Plan (RESP) for Wales, working closely with stakeholders and internal teams.
  • Lead on regional energy strategic planning work packages, ensuring effective coordination with other regional and central RESP teams.
  • Represent NESO's regional energy planning function at strategic level, deputising for the regional manager as needed.
  • Engage with key regional stakeholders, including local government, gas and electricity networks, and other local actors, to understand their views and requirements.
  • Design and deliver workshops and engagement activities to progress the RESP, ensuring effective communication and stakeholder engagement.
  • Produce and deliver clear, concise reports and slide packs, ensuring key messages are relevant, clear, and pitched appropriately for the audience.
About You

We are looking for an individual with a strong background in energy planning, project development, and stakeholder engagement. You will have experience working with local authorities and energy distribution companies, ideally relevant to the region you seek to work within. You will also have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to translate complex technical information into easily understandable messaging for non-technical audiences.
