About the Role

The National Grid is seeking a highly skilled and experienced individual to fill the role of Wales Energy Planning Lead. This position will be responsible for developing and implementing regional energy strategic plans for Wales, working closely with local authorities, energy distribution companies, and other stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement regional energy strategic plans for Wales
  • Work closely with local authorities, energy distribution companies, and other stakeholders to understand their needs and priorities
  • Lead on regional energy planning work packages, including defining and implementing methodologies and processes
  • Represent the National Grid's regional energy planning function at strategic level and deputise for the regional manager
  • Engage with key regional stakeholders to understand their views and requirements and ensure that the regional energy plan delivers value

About You

To be successful in this role, you will need to have a strong understanding of the energy sector, including technical energy knowledge and experience of working with or within local authorities and energy distribution companies. You will also need to have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, as well as the ability to translate complex and technical information into easily understandable messaging for non-technical audiences.
