About the Role:

The Chief Engineering Director will lead teams across multiple locations, fostering a customer-centric culture while ensuring compliance with statutory, legal, and regulatory requirements.

Collaborating with Operational teams, this individual will drive the ongoing development of Engineering Excellence to achieve higher levels of customer satisfaction.

This includes adhering to and implementing the divisional governance framework established by the Head of Engineering Excellence, ensuring standard operational policies and procedures are followed within the Local Business Unit (LBU).

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement strategies to improve engineering performance
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement and innovation
  • Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and legislation
  • Lead cross-functional teams to deliver business objectives
  • Drive the development of Engineering Excellence initiatives

About You:

  • You hold a degree in Engineering or a related field
  • You have a strong track record as a credible leader in the service sector
  • Extensive experience working in Bus and coach/HGV as an engineering manager is advantageous
  • You must be willing to obtain or work towards Transport Manager CPC Certification
  • You can demonstrate delivery of major change or sustained improvement in an engineering environment
  • Union influence experience is advantageous
  • You have extensive knowledge of all relevant legislations including PSV Operator License Compliance, with a good awareness of and practical experience of lean tools and techniques

Salary:

We offer a competitive salary of £60,000 - £80,000 per annum, dependent on experience
