We are seeking an experienced Policy and Health Influencing Officer to join our team at Prostate Cancer UK. As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in driving impactful changes that improve men's experience in prostate cancer diagnosis, treatment, care, and support.

As a Policy and Health Influencing Officer, you will be responsible for supporting complex and politically sensitive projects to drive change across the UK's health services and other providers at local, regional, and national levels.

You will work closely with our multi-disciplinary team, including volunteers and partners, to achieve our strategic aims. Your expertise in engaging with stakeholders, both individually and in large groups, will be essential in effecting change through effective tools and approaches.

Through building relationships with health services and systems, you will understand the obstacles to improving care and work collaboratively with others to overcome these challenges.

You will also develop resources for campaigning, influencing, and policy work using digital tools, including social media and online channels. Staying up-to-date with health news and the changing environment in all areas related to prostate cancer will inform your work.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support complex and politically sensitive projects to drive change across the UK's health services and other providers
  • Engage with stakeholders, both individually and in large groups, to effect change through effective tools and approaches
  • Develop resources for campaigning, influencing, and policy work using digital tools

Requirements
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to communicate with a wide range of stakeholders at all levels
  • Strong knowledge of UK health services, policy, and systems, including how they operate politically, financially, and clinically
  • Experience in influencing strategic partnerships and building relationships with stakeholders who can influence healthcare matters and bring about change
  • Project management experience, with the ability to gain engagement with health, political, and public stakeholders
  • Experience in working on change campaigns that involve public participation using social media and online channels
