About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to join our Senior Management Team as a Director of Advocacy and Campaigns. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in shaping our policy and advocacy work, driving strategic influence, and securing policy change.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement effective advocacy and campaigning strategies to influence policy and political debates
  • Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including policymakers, media, and civil society organisations
  • Lead and manage a team of advocacy and campaigns professionals, providing guidance and support to ensure successful delivery of projects
  • Contribute to the development of our organisational strategy, ensuring that our policy and advocacy work is aligned with our mission and goals
  • Represent ECU externally, communicating our work and impact to a range of audiences
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Substantial experience of influencing policy and political debates through advocacy, communications, and campaigning
  • Exceptional political judgement and understanding of how to shift public debates and secure policy change
  • Strong analytical and communication skills, with the ability to devise and deliver highly strategic and adaptable multi-stakeholder influencing programmes
  • Experience of managing staff and contributing to organisational effectiveness and impact
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to represent ECU externally and communicate our work and impact to a range of audiences
