Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Payroll Administrator to join our team. As a key member of our payroll department, you will be responsible for performing the full range of payroll processing activities, including calculation of pay, preparation of payroll records, and reconciliation of payroll discrepancies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Process payroll for all employees in a timely manner, adhering to University policies, Commonwealth of Virginia policies, Federal and State tax laws, garnishment laws, and other governing bodies.
  • Reconcile payroll discrepancies and ensure accuracy of payroll records.
  • Communicate effectively with employees, management, and external parties regarding payroll-related matters.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in payroll administration, preferably in an academic or government setting.
  • Working knowledge of payroll tax regulations, wage-hour regulations, state and federal tax garnishment laws, and other governing bodies.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Masters degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • Professional certification in payroll administration (e.g., CPP).
Benefits

This is a salaried position with a competitive salary range of $65,000 - $80,000 per year, depending on qualifications and experience. Benefits include health, dental, and vision insurance, retirement plan, paid time off, and more.
