Asbestos Supervisor Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Asbestos Supervisor to join our fully licensed Asbestos Section at City Building. The successful candidate will have a strong background in asbestos removal and management, with a proven track record of leading teams and ensuring safe working practices.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage a skilled team of asbestos operatives, providing guidance and support to ensure successful project delivery.
  • Develop and implement plans of work (method statements) and risk assessments, ensuring compliance with current regulations and industry standards.
  • Actively adhere to all Health & Safety procedures and instructions, promoting a culture of safety within the team.
  • Assess hazards on-site and complete or make minor changes to risk assessments as required, ensuring the safety of all personnel.
  • Work in a safe manner, using and maintaining all safety equipment supplied, including respiratory protective equipment (RPE).
  • Be clean shaven each working day for using RPE, and report any defects to the supervisor.
  • Care for all safety equipment and report any defects to the supervisor.
  • Have a flexible attitude to working hours, including evening and weekend working, and be willing to participate in a call-out rota for emergency situations.
  • Hold a full current driving licence and have access to a car.

The successful candidate will undergo all necessary training required for this post and participate in annual refresher training, which meets the training needs of the individual, focusing on good practice, new work methods, regulations, and any other topics deemed relevant by City Building.

We are looking for a keen and enthusiastic individual with good organisational skills, who can work as an integral member of the team. As the public face of the section, the successful candidate must have an approachable manner, be a good communicator, and be confident in dealing with clients and members of the public.

A minimum of 5 years' relevant experience within the industry is required for this role.
