Asbestos Supervisor Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Asbestos Supervisor to join our fully licensed Asbestos Section at City Building. The successful candidate will have a strong background in asbestos removal and management, with a proven track record of leading teams and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage a skilled team of asbestos operatives to ensure safe and efficient removal of asbestos-based materials.
  • Develop and implement plans of work (method statements) and risk assessments to mitigate hazards and ensure compliance with regulations.
  • Actively adhere to all Health & Safety procedures and instructions, and assess hazards on-site to complete or make minor changes to risk assessments as required.
  • Use and maintain all safety equipment supplied, including respiratory protective equipment (RPE), and report any defects.
  • Be clean shaven each working day for using RPE, and care for all safety equipment, reporting any defects to your supervisor.
  • Have a flexible attitude to working hours, including evening and weekend working, and be willing to participate in a call-out rota for emergency situations.
  • Hold a full current driving licence and have access to a car.
Requirements:
  • Minimum 5 years' relevant experience within the industry.
  • Strong knowledge of the current Asbestos Regulations 2012 and the Licensed Contractors' Guide.
  • Excellent organisational skills and ability to work as an integral member of the team.
  • Approachable manner, good communication skills, and confidence in dealing with clients and members of the public.

City Building currently has ARCA (Asbestos Removal Contractors Association) Gold level accreditation, and the successful candidate will undergo all necessary training required for this post and participate in annual refresher training to meet the training needs of the individual.
