Job Title: Residential Worker

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Residential Worker to join our team at Essex County Council. As a Residential Worker, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care and support to children and young people with disabilities.

About the Role:

This is an exciting opportunity to join our overnight short breaks residential provision, where you will work with children and families to ensure the delivery of good quality care. You will be responsible for working 37 hours over a mixture of early and late shifts, providing a safe and supportive environment for our young people.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide individualized care and support to children and young people with disabilities
  • Work collaboratively with families and other professionals to ensure the best possible outcomes for our young people
  • Develop and implement personalized care plans to meet the unique needs of each child
  • Manage challenging behavior and provide de-escalation techniques to ensure a safe environment
  • Communicate effectively with children, families, and colleagues to ensure seamless care delivery
Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A Level 3 Diploma in a relevant field (or willingness to complete within 2 years)
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work flexibly and adapt to changing situations
  • Experience of working with children and young people with disabilities (desirable)
