Job Title: Residential Worker

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Residential Worker to join our team at Essex County Council. As a Residential Worker, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care and support to children and young people with disabilities.

About the Role:
  • Work in a purpose-built home providing overnight short breaks for up to 8 young people with disabilities.
  • Deliver good quality care and support to children and young people, ensuring their physical, emotional, and social needs are met.
  • Work collaboratively with families and other professionals to provide a holistic approach to care.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with children and young people, promoting their independence and self-esteem.
  • Manage challenging behavior using de-escalation techniques and work with the team to create a safe and supportive environment.
Requirements:
  • Previous experience of working in a children's home or a similar setting is desirable.
  • Ability to work flexibly, including early and late shifts.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage challenging behavior and work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Level 3 Diploma in Health and Social Care or equivalent qualification is required.
