Job Title: Residential Worker

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Residential Worker to join our team at Essex County Council. As a Residential Worker, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care and support to children and young people with disabilities.

About the Role:
  • Work in a purpose-built home providing overnight short breaks for up to 8 young people with disabilities.
  • Deliver good quality care and support to children and young people, ensuring their physical, emotional, and social needs are met.
  • Work collaboratively with families and other professionals to provide a holistic approach to care.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with children and young people, promoting their independence and self-esteem.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of individual care plans, ensuring the needs of each child or young person are met.
Requirements:
  • Previous experience of working in a children's home or a similar setting is desirable, but not essential.
  • Ability to work flexibly, including early and late shifts, to meet the needs of the service.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with children, young people, and families.
  • Ability to manage challenging behavior and provide de-escalation techniques.
  • Level 3 Diploma in Children and Young People's Workforce or equivalent qualification is desirable.
