UNISON is seeking an experienced professional to support our campaign for public services and jobs in central Scotland. As an Area Organizer, you will play a key role in recruiting, organizing, and developing initiatives to engage our members and promote our objectives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and deliver recruitment and organizing initiatives and campaigns in our branches
  • Train and develop stewards to effectively represent members' interests
  • Undertake case work, advise, support, and mentor branch officers and stewards in representation and negotiation
  • Travel throughout central Scotland to meet with members, attend training sessions, and participate in campaign activities

Requirements

  • Excellent presentation and communication skills, both face-to-face and in writing
  • A sound understanding of trade unions and their objectives, as well as UNISON's policies and objectives
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team to achieve campaign goals
