Job Description

Role Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Community Health & Engagement Officer to join our team in Eastbourne. The successful candidate will be responsible for promoting user experience within the company, community, and among external stakeholders.

Main Responsibilities:

  1. Promoting user experience within the company, community, and among external stakeholders.
  2. Establishing and developing a service user forum/service improvement board for regular meetings and oversight.
  3. Participating in internal meetings to stay informed about daily operations and advocating for user experience.

Quality Monitoring & Improvement:

  1. Attending monthly contract review meetings with the Integrated Care Board.
  2. Implementing improvements following complaints and feedback.

Service User Support:

  1. Supporting users who are not eligible for a wheelchair, identifying alternative options.
  2. Assisting Service Users in navigating the complaints process.
  3. Providing information on available services through signposting to other health professionals, social care, charities, and more.

Networking and Communication:

  1. Networking with professionals to promote knowledge of the wheelchair service and highlight areas for improvement.
  2. Nurturing relationships with local and national disability organisations.
  3. Utilizing local social media to promote service user engagement.
  4. Creating a local newsletter and disseminating relevant information to Service Users.

Requirements:

  1. Lived experience of vulnerable children and adults, gained through personal or carer use, including experience with wheelchair and healthcare equipment/services.
  2. Strategic and project planning skills, with experience in decision-making.
  3. Strong interpersonal skills, including customer care and conflict management.
  4. Marketing/PR experience is desirable.
  5. A valid UK driving license is essential.
