Commercial Operations Manager
About the CompanyEmpower Digital Limited is a leading demolition company in the Midlands region. We are seeking an experienced Commercial Operations Manager to join our team.
Salary and BenefitsThe successful candidate can expect a competitive salary of £45,000 - £60,000 per annum, depending on experience, plus benefits package including excellent remuneration / tailor-made packages to suit each individual and job role.
Job DescriptionWe are looking for a highly skilled Commercial Operations Manager to oversee the financial and commercial aspects of our projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in quantity surveying and experience working in demolition, asbestos removal, geotechnical, and civil engineering projects.
- Negotiate contracts with clients and suppliers;
- Break down estimates into cost budgets;
- Tender and procure subcontract and supplier packages;
- Prepare and issue applications for payment;
- Liaise with accounts departments to advise on costs and revenue matters;
- Assess and approve subcontract applications for payment and supplier payments;
- Value variations, changes, and compensation events, and provide necessary substantiation;
- Prepare notifications of delay and petitions to extend programme, including agreeing time awards;
- Prepare notifications for, and valuation of loss and expense, including agreeing additional sums due;
- Preparing and updating project programmes (Gantt charts) to reflect changes;
- Working with site teams to create cost-value-forecasts (CVF) for the forthcoming period (month);
- Completing cost-value reconciliation (CVR) report for completed period (month);
- Advising operations team of any cost implications or commercial risks of any changes, delays etc.
The ideal candidate will possess:
- A professional qualification or experience in quantity surveying;
- Experience in demolition, asbestos removal, geotechnical, and civil engineering projects;
- Updated knowledge of building codes;
- Exceptional written and spoken English skills;
- Exceptional math skills;
- A self-motivated personality;
- Attention to detail;
- Organisation and time management skills.
This is a geographical-based position covering the Midlands and expanding nationally, so living in and around Birmingham is preferable.
