Supporting Adults in Oswaldtwistle

Lancashire Volunteer Partnership is seeking volunteers to assist with activities for adults at Oswaldtwistle Library.

The library is a hub for the local community, providing a safe space for people to come together and engage in various activities.

As a volunteer, you will play a vital role in helping to tackle social isolation by participating in events and activities that promote mental health and wellbeing, literacy, and community engagement.

Responsibilities include:

  • Assisting with event setup and refreshments
  • Welcoming library users and engaging in conversation
  • Helping to promote events and activities
  • Logging volunteering hours and submitting expenses
  • Completing required training and refreshers

Required qualities include being confident in dealing with the public and having a willingness to learn and develop new skills.

Training will be provided where necessary, and volunteers are expected to commit to regular training and refreshers.
