Job Description:
We are seeking volunteers to assist with supporting activities for adults at Oswaldtwistle Library. As a volunteer, you will play a vital role in helping to provide a safe and welcoming space for community members to engage in various activities and projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with the setup and running of various library social events, including coffee mornings, music recitals, craft activities, and games sessions.
- Help promote events and activities to library users.
- Welcoming library users and engaging with them to help tackle social isolation.
- Log volunteering hours and submit expenses via an online system.
- Complete necessary training, including safeguarding and further training relevant to the role.
Requirements:
- Confidence in dealing with all members of the public.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
Training and Support:
Training will be provided where necessary, and may include peer support, distance learning, or trainer-led sessions. Volunteers must complete required training before undertaking any activities and may be asked to refresh training regularly.
