Role Responsibilities
As a Youth Support Specialist, you will manage a caseload of young individuals facing challenges related to substance use. Your responsibilities will include assessing their needs, creating care plans, delivering diverse treatment options, and referring them to specialized support when required.
You will actively engage with young people, offering them the guidance, training, and education necessary to help them comprehend the implications of their circumstances and the choices they make.
Essential Qualifications
To excel in this position, you should possess:
- Strong relationship-building abilities with a diverse range of individuals
- The capacity to work independently as well as collaboratively, sharing your expertise and insights
- Effective organizational skills to manage your time efficiently, prioritize tasks, and handle competing demands
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to deliver engaging presentations
- Proficiency in maintaining accurate case records in a timely manner
- Competence in using various software applications and digital tools
This position is contingent upon a satisfactory enhanced level DBS and barred lists check.
Preferred Qualifications
While not mandatory, the following qualifications would be advantageous:
- A background in substance use, mental health, psychology, nursing, or youth work
- Experience in Children's Social Care
- Understanding of parenting skills and related issues
