Job Summary

This is an exciting opportunity to progress your pharmacy career with University Hospitals Birmingham NHS Foundation Trust. We are seeking enthusiastic and well-motivated individuals to join our friendly team of pharmacy technicians who provide a range of pharmaceutical services in our busy acute hospital setting.

About the Role

In this progressive role, you will be fully supported to gain the skills and experience required to practice at an advanced level in the hospital setting. As the successful candidate, you will first commence in the role at band 4, and then upon completion of an individualised development plan, you will progress to your role as Clinical Pharmacy Technician, Band 5.

Main Duties

As a Clinical Pharmacy Technician, you will be responsible for working on wards, carrying out a comprehensive medicines management service, which will encompass assessment of patients' own medicines, medicines reconciliation, and counselling for discharge. You will also be involved in the governance of medicines through regular audits and will have the opportunity to develop your skills and experience in a supportive and dynamic team environment.

Requirements
  • A nationally recognised Pharmacy Technician qualification and registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council
  • An accredited accuracy checking qualification or working towards this qualification
  • Community or hospital experience
  • A flexible approach to accommodate the needs of the service
  • Good time management skills
