We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic Pharmacy Technician to join our team at University Hospitals Birmingham NHS Foundation Trust. As a Clinical Pharmacy Technician, you will play a vital role in providing pharmaceutical services to our patients and contributing to the delivery of high-quality patient care.
Key Responsibilities- Provide comprehensive medicines management services, including assessment of patients' own medicines, medicines reconciliation, and counseling for discharge.
- Work collaboratively with ward teams to develop and implement high-quality pharmacy services.
- Contribute to the governance of medicines through regular audits and quality improvement initiatives.
- Develop and maintain accurate and up-to-date knowledge of medicines, including their uses, side effects, and interactions.
- Provide expert advice and guidance to patients, healthcare professionals, and other stakeholders on the safe and effective use of medicines.
- Participate in the training and mentoring of junior staff and contribute to the development of pharmacy services.
- Registered with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC) as a Pharmacy Technician.
- Accredited Checking Technician (National Framework) qualification or equivalent.
- Experience of working in a hospital pharmacy setting, preferably in a band 4 or above role.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with patients, healthcare professionals, and other stakeholders.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a flexible approach to accommodate the needs of the service.
- Good time management and organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage workload effectively.
