Job Title: Counsellor for Children

Salary: £40,000 - £60,000 per annum (dependent on experience)

About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced and compassionate Counsellor to join our Safeguarding and Pastoral Team. As a Child Welfare Specialist, you will work with children and adolescents to provide emotional support and guidance. The ideal candidate will have a post-graduate Diploma or Masters level in Counselling or Psychotherapy, specialising in working with children and adolescents.

The role involves providing one-to-one counselling services to students, supporting the school's Mental Health Lead, and coordinating in-school support from specialist mental health services. Key responsibilities include:
  • Managing behaviour effectively to create a positive, calm, and purposeful climate for learning
  • Providing counselling services to students and staff
  • Coordinating in-school support from specialist mental health services
  • Delivering group sessions or workshops and supporting related whole-school initiatives
