Job Overview

As a locum Physiotherapist, you will be responsible for conducting safe and effective group-based exercise therapy sessions to restore optimal function to injured or ill service personnel. Your duties will include designing and implementing individual exercise treatment schedules, auditing selected areas, and adhering to all aspects of clinical governance.



Responsibilities

  • Perform clinical assessments and develop strength and Range of Movement (ROM) enhancement programs
  • Conduct group-based exercise therapy sessions for up to 15 patients, focusing on posture, neuro-muscular control, walking/running re-education, aerobic training, recreational therapy, manual handling, and hydrotherapy
  • Lead a group of patients within a defined clinical area, setting rehabilitation treatment goals and assessing and treating musculoskeletal (MSK) injuries
  • Work collaboratively with a multi-disciplinary team to provide a comprehensive and professional rehab service
  • Adhere to clinical governance and deal with emotional and behavioural aspects of illness/injury, aggressive outbursts, and challenging behaviour
  • Communicate complex information clearly through presentations and writing


Requirements

  • Recent UK experience within physiotherapy
  • Registration with the HCPC as a physiotherapist to work in the UK
  • NHS experience would be advantageous but not essential
