We are seeking a Rehabilitation and Enablement Specialist to join our team at Portsmouth City Council's Community Rehab Service.

About the Job

The successful candidate will deliver reablement and rehabilitation interventions to restore, maximise or prevent deterioration in physical, psychological and social functioning. This will involve assessing rehab and reablement needs, planning treatment interventions and evaluating outcomes. You will work closely with clients, carers, relatives and other professionals to provide advice, teaching and instruction, and supervise and educate rehabilitation assistants.

What You'll Need

To succeed in this role, you will need a Diploma of the College of Occupational Therapists or BSc Occupational Therapy qualification, substantial post-qualifying experience and current registration with HCPC. You should have a thorough understanding of rehabilitation principles and the ability to formulate, modify and evaluate rehabilitation programmes. Experience in complex caseload management, providing specialist equipment and using assistive technologies is essential. Knowledge of relevant legislation relating to adults with disabilities and manual handling skills are also required.
