About the Role
  • To create a nurturing environment that promotes emotional well-being and developmental growth among the young people.
  • To maintain awareness of relevant legislation, guidelines, and policies to ensure adherence to the Children's Act, Children's Homes Regulations, and National Minimum Standards.
  • To track and document young people's progress, focusing on their achievements, behavior, and significant life events.
  • To work collaboratively with local authorities and placing authorities to deliver high-quality care for the young people.
  • To establish and maintain positive relationships with parents/carers, supporting young people's educational and personal development.
  • To demonstrate flexibility within working practices, including participating in domestic duties within the home.
  • To maintain precise and readable records concerning the young people.

The successful candidate will have prior experience working with teenage boys or challenging behavior, along with a commitment to professional development. Holding a driving licence and having access to a vehicle is mandatory due to the rural location. A Residential Childcare/Families Practitioner Diploma/Children and Young People's Workforce/NVQ Level 3 in Health & Social Care or equivalent qualification is required.

This position demands adaptability with working hours, including weekdays, evenings, and weekends. The ability to address inappropriate behavior, set clear boundaries, and provide care tailored to individual needs is essential. Effective verbal and written communication is vital.

The estimated hourly rate for this position is £95.
