Collections & House Manager - Alresford

We're seeking a skilled Collections and House Manager to join our team at The National Trust. As a key member of our Senior Leadership Team, you'll be responsible for delivering high presentation standards, customer care, compliance, and collections management in a historic setting.
About the Role
As Collections and House Manager, you'll work in partnership with your peers across the leadership team to ensure operational efficiency, championing conservation and cultural heritage. You'll manage the Senior Collections & House Officer, supporting them to deliver conservation projects, collections care, and the daily opening of the house at Hinton Ampner. You'll also have overall responsibility for a team of volunteers, developing their skills and providing an indoor volunteering offer that is as flexible and inclusive as possible.
Key Responsibilities
• Deliver high presentation standards, customer care, compliance, and collections management in a historic setting
• Manage the Senior Collections & House Officer, supporting them to deliver conservation projects, collections care, and the daily opening of the house at Hinton Ampner
• Develop and implement effective conservation and collections management strategies
• Collaborate with colleagues to ensure operational efficiency and champion conservation and cultural heritage
• Develop and lead a team of volunteers, providing an indoor volunteering offer that is as flexible and inclusive as possible
Requirements
We're looking for someone with a proven ability to deliver high presentation standards, customer care, compliance, and collections management in a historic setting. You'll need to have an awareness of current developments and approved practices in the heritage sector around visitor engagement, innovation, and access. A passion for promoting inclusivity and diversity in the interpretation and presentation of history is essential. You'll also need to have an ability to show resilience and positivity while delivering change and managing internal customers.
