Job Title: Inclusive Education Trainer – Special Educational Needs

Job Summary: We are seeking an experienced Inclusive Education Trainer to join our team at Essex County Council. The successful candidate will work with young people and adults with Special Educational Needs, mental health, or disabilities, providing training and support to enable them to become safe independent travellers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver Travel Training to clients on a 1:1 basis.
  • Visit young people and adults in their homes.
  • Develop bespoke training plans for each client, considering their additional needs and complexities of the route.
  • Provide ongoing feedback to the client and referrer.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with existing and new organisations.
  • Attend events.
  • Support the wider travel training team where applicable.

Requirements:

  • Experience within an SEN or adult social care setting is essential.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Motivated to instil confidence in others whilst building strong rapport.
  • Highly organised, able to manage your workload efficiently, with good IT skills and ability to meet deadlines.
  • A driving licence and access to a vehicle are required.
