Job Title: HSQE Advisor

Keltbray Infrastructure Services is seeking a highly skilled HSQE Advisor to join our renewables team in Norwich.

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing competent health, safety, quality, and site environmental advice to ensure inspections and guidance for site staff and management teams are carried out effectively. This will involve promoting safe equipment, standards, and methods of working, as well as leading by example and demonstrating the expected behaviors.

This is an office/site-based role that requires strong interpersonal skills, excellent time management, and the ability to work effectively within a broad range of working environments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Stop works where unsafe conditions are identified and agree and document suitable and safe solutions.
  • Assist the operational team with reviewing CDM documentation.
  • Assure process and working methods.
  • Take an active role in developing, maintaining, and promoting a positive HSQE culture.
  • Ensure compliance with Keltbray standards and client requirements.
  • Undertake task analysis of risk assessment and method statements/task briefings.
  • Provide support and advice for staff to aid and promote sustainable practice.
  • Ensure all requirements and findings are closed within the required timescales.
  • Promote the closure of NCRs and OFIs within the project.

Secondary Responsibilities:

  • Encourage quality contributions and ensure timely close out and feedback is actioned, promote lessons learnt and good practice sharing.
  • Build and maintain effective working relationships with site teams, clients, and other stakeholders.
  • Promote health and wellbeing support, and direct staff where required.
  • Prepare and deliver workforce (including subcontractors) engagement (tool box talks, awareness sessions).
  • Lead on Level 1 investigations.
  • Proactively improve in reducing risk through the planning process.

Qualifications and Training:

  • NEBOSH NGC
  • IOSH Membership Grad – Chartered (or equivalent)
  • IEMA Practitioner member or above (or equivalent)
  • PETALS
  • Mental Health First Aider
  • Driving Licence
  • Kelvin Top Set 1 day 1 - 3
  • Report writing course
  • Behavioural Safety Training including TCUP

Desirable Qualifications:

  • CSCS
  • EUSR
  • PTS

Knowledge and Experience:

  • Understanding of working methods
  • Industrial knowledge across the infrastructure Services areas of Business
  • Basics of management systems
  • Site inspections and risk assessment experience
  • Site experience
  • Reviewing CDM and industry
  • Sustainability and carbon capture

Skills and Abilities:

  • Excellent listening behaviors
  • Positive attitude
  • Ability to work weekends when required.
  • Ability to work overtime when required.
  • Ability to use IT systems including Microsoft 365, and HSQE specific systems.
  • Excellent time management and relationship skills, comfortably working effectively within a broad range of working environments.
  • Strong interpersonal skills able to communicate clearly to inform and influence others; uses appropriate, effective methods to deliver messages.
