About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Substance Misuse Nurse to join our team at HMP Millsike, a Category C men's prison located in the village of Full Sutton near York.

The prison will have an operational capacity of 1500 people who will spend their sentences learning the skills they need to find work on release as part of the government's drive to cut reoffending.

This is a rare opportunity to be part of a new healthcare team from the inception of a brand new prison site.

The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering comprehensive assessment and recovery planning, as well as delivering a range of treatment options including clinical and psychosocial interventions in both a group and 1-1 setting.

The ideal candidate will have a strong clinical background in substance misuse, with experience of working in secure environments.

Main Responsibilities
  • Deliver comprehensive assessment and recovery planning
  • Deliver a range of treatment options including clinical and psychosocial interventions
  • Carry out comprehensive assessments, initiate and review individual recovery plans

  • Registered nurse with current NMC registration
  • Evidence of Continued Professional Development (CPD)
