About the Role

We are excited to offer a unique opportunity for a Clinical Leadership Sister/Charge Nurse to join our dynamic team at Calderdale and Huddersfield NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of the senior team, you will play a crucial role in delivering high-quality patient care and supporting the development of our nurses and support staff.

This is a challenging yet rewarding role that requires flexibility, strong communication skills, and a willingness to embrace new ways of working.

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing clinical and managerial leadership to nursing and support staff, working closely with the senior team to develop and implement effective care plans.

This is a full-time position, and we offer a competitive salary of £43,680 per annum, plus benefits.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide clinical leadership and guidance to nursing and support staff.
  • Work collaboratively with the senior team to develop and implement effective care plans.
  • Conduct audits and quality improvement initiatives to ensure high standards of patient care.
  • Support the Band 7 team with appraisals and performance management.
  • Deputise for the Departmental Manager in their absence.
Person Specification
Qualifications/Training
  • Registered Nurse Qualification.
  • Evidence of post-basic education to meet the requirements of the service and nurse registration.
  • Teaching/Mentoring Certificate/skills.
  • Other Post Basic Qualification.
Knowledge, Experience & Expertise
  • Significant experience as a Band 5 registered nurse within a hospital setting.
  • A commitment to providing exceptional levels of patient care in a professional and compassionate manner.
  • Awareness of the Must-Dos.
  • Leadership and clinical supervision skills.
  • Recent experience working within Acute Medicine.
  • Recent experience in undertaking staff appraisals.
  • Knowledge of Acute Medicine.
  • Involvement in Quality Improvement initiatives.
Communication and Relationships
  • Demonstrates professional leadership skills.
  • Ability to delegate, organise and prioritise care delivery.
