Job Summary
The Production Foreman is responsible for supervising and training inmates in the production of metal furniture, office systems, and seating. The ideal candidate will have knowledge of metal furniture, office systems, and seating manufacturing, as well as experience in effective planning and organizing, record-keeping, problem-solving, quality management, and developing, directing, correcting, and motivating others.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and train inmates in the production of metal furniture, office systems, and seating
- Ensure quality standards are met and products are shipped on time
- Develop and implement production schedules and plans
- Monitor and control inventory and warehouse operations
- Collaborate with other departments to achieve production goals
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience
- Knowledge of metal furniture, office systems, and seating manufacturing
- Experience in effective planning and organizing, record-keeping, problem-solving, quality management, and developing, directing, correcting, and motivating others
- Ability to adapt to change, work independently, and resolve problems
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office products
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with MRP/ERP systems
- Proficiency in continuous improvement practices and concepts
- Experience in quality programs and production floor quality improvement initiatives
- Experience in metal furniture, office systems, and seating, welding, punch die brakes, metal brakes, rotary draw benders, plasma or laser cutters, office cubicle systems, and prior lead or supervisory experience
Working Conditions
The Production Foreman will work in a manufacturing environment with a team of inmates and staff. The ideal candidate will be able to work in a fast-paced environment, adapt to change, and prioritize tasks effectively.
