Job Summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a motivated and dedicated Physiotherapist to join our workforce at Cambridgeshire and Peterborough NHS Foundation Trust. We are a small, multidisciplinary team whose primary aim is to prevent admission to hospital of patients within Huntingdonshire.

About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Physiotherapist to work within our acute hospital's Emergency Department (ED) and Acute Assessment Unit (AAU), receiving referrals from consultants requesting assessments of patients suitable for discharge. The successful candidate will be expected to support the wider team within the ED and AAU, working with acute MDT colleagues to assess, plan and facilitate a safe discharge, referring onwards and signposting as indicated based on the patient presentation.

Main Duties
  1. Identify patients within Emergency Department, who may meet the admission criteria for CPFT services.
  2. To assess the identified, or patients referred by consultants in Emergency Department.
  3. To document assessments and findings on SystmOne, Etrac, and Symphony.
  4. To liaise with consultants and senior nurses in the department.
  5. To liaise with the social worker regarding patients who do not meet Intermediate Care admission criteria or who have obvious need for social care support.
  6. To support students, learners, and other team members.

Requirements
  • Relevant post-graduate clinical experience in a variety of settings.
  • Clinical supervisor training and experience.
  • Current HCPC registration.
  • Documented evidence of own continuing professional development.
  • Willingness to undertake Fieldwork/Practice Educator qualification.
