Job Overview

Barts Health NHS Trust is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Anatomical Pathology Technologist to join our Mortuary team. This is a challenging and rewarding role that requires a strong understanding of mortuary processes and a commitment to delivering high-quality patient care.

Main Duties

The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting in all aspects of mortuary services, including post-mortem provision for adults, perinatal/paediatric cases, and care of the deceased. They will also be the dedicated training lead for trainee APTs, ensuring they reach the required standard to pass the level 3 diploma.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in the preparation and conduct of post-mortem examinations
  • Provide training and support to trainee APTs
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of mortuary policies and procedures
  • Collaborate with other teams to ensure seamless delivery of mortuary services

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need to have a Level 4 Diploma or equivalent in Anatomical Pathology Technology, issued by RSPH. You will also need to have demonstrable knowledge of a wide range of mortuary processes, as well as a commitment to continued professional development.
