About the Role

CV-Library is currently seeking a dedicated and caring individual to fill a Special Educational Needs (SEN) Teaching Assistant position. The ideal candidate will have experience working with children with autism or other special educational needs, although this is not essential.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Support students with SEND needs in a mainstream secondary school environment.
  2. Work closely with teachers and other support staff to create an inclusive learning environment.
  3. Develop and implement strategies to support students with autism, including adapting teaching methods and providing individualized support.
  4. Contribute to the development of a positive and supportive classroom culture.
  5. Attend meetings and contribute to the development of Individual Education Plans (IEPs).

Requirements

  • Patient, caring, and flexible approach to supporting children with diverse needs.
  • An understanding of the challenges faced by children with autism and a commitment to creating an inclusive environment.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with children, teachers, and parents.
  • A willingness to learn and develop new skills, with a commitment to ongoing professional development.
