About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Staff Nurse to join our team at the Hospice of St Francis. As a Staff Nurse, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care to patients and their families, ensuring that their physical, psychological, and spiritual needs are met.

Main Responsibilities

  • Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care for patients, taking into consideration their holistic needs and Hospice guidelines.
  • Work collaboratively with the multi-professional team to maintain standards of care within the inpatient unit.
  • Ensure the continuity of care through comprehensive recording and verbal, written, and electronic hand-over to other team members.
  • Participate in identifying and developing guidelines and standards within the Inpatient Unit.
  • Supervise Health Care Assistants and maintain the safe custody and administration of drugs.
  • Establish caring relationships with patients and their families, providing support and advice as needed.

Person Specification

  • Registered General Nurse (Level 1)
  • Evidence of Continuing Professional Development
  • Passion for palliative care and a desire to learn
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate with colleagues
  • Knowledge of infection control, health and safety, and vulnerable adults
